Wetterstationen

  • Weather ENVOY 6316CEU

Standorte, Stand 08/2026

MCF-LWWS01 — this is the SKU for the assembled kit, not a device with its own DevEUI. enginko integrates a LoRaWAN communication system into a Davis Vantage Pro2 weather station, using either the MCF-LW06DAV or MCF-LW06DAVP interface. The 00/01/02/03 suffixes distinguish variants; 01 is the one with the particulate sensor. So when you register a device in TTN, you're really registering the LW06DAV — that's the only thing on the air.

Sensor suite (ISS) — the pole-mounted assembly: anemometer, tipping-bucket rain collector, temp/humidity in the radiation shield, plus solar and UV. It has its own CR123A cell and small solar panel, and it broadcasts on Davis's proprietary 868 MHz FSK link roughly every 2.5 seconds. Nothing polls it; it just talks.

Weather Envoy 6316CEU — a Vantage Pro2 console without the display. It listens for the ISS transmitter ID, then does the real work: derived values (dew point, evapotranspiration, 3-hour barometer trend, forecast icon) that the ISS never sends. All of it lives in the Davis “LOOP” data structure. It takes 4× AA cells and connects via the console cable coming from the 6820CM. Powered from the 6 V solar battery, AAs are backup only.

MCF-LW06DAV(P) — sits on the Envoy's serial port as master. On your configured interval it wakes, requests the LOOP packet, picks out the fields it cares about, and emits the 0B/2/00 frame. The interval is set in minutes, and one measurement is sent per transmission. On the P variant the PM sensor is wired to this module, not the Envoy — which is why particulates arrive as a separate 0B/2/01 uplink with its own timestamp rather than mixed in with the weather.
